Matteo Aquilina leads the BIS's contributions and deliverables to the G20 and the Financial Stability Board. Matteo joined the BIS in late 2022, initially working in the Financial Markets Unit. Before joining the BIS, Matteo spent over two years at the Secretariat of the Financial Stability Board, focusing on non-bank financial intermediation. Prior to that, he worked for 10 years at the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in various roles within the Chief Economist Department. During his time at the FCA, Matteo also served as the vice-chair of the IOSCO Committee on Emerging Risks. Matteo's research has been published in several academic journals, including the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control and the Journal of Financial Markets.
