BIS Innovation Network 


The BIS Innovation Network provides a platform for central banks' experts to exchange views, discuss technology trends, and to inform on member's latest projects and initiatives. The BIS Innovation Network also plays a key role in identifying potential technology solutions for common central banks' problems and developing its projects. The network is open to all BIS member central banks.

BIS Innovation Network Activities

Workshop: Technology for Retail Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), 25 May 2023

The workshop focused on exploring four main issues (security, offline capabilities, privacy, and end-user experience) in three sessions: i) insights from industry leaders in technology; ii) security standards and design of offline capabilities for retail CBDC; iii) user attraction and privacy in retail CBDC.

Workshop: Technology in green finance, 19 April 2023

The workshop covered key issues facing by central banks and supervisors in related to climate risk assessment and how technology could play role to overcome those challenges. Participant discussed in this workshop three topics: (i) how to increase the quantity of sustainability-related data, (ii) how to increase the access of SMEs to green bond financing, and (iii) assess the environmental materiality of information.
