The CGFS reports to the Global Economy Meeting (GEM). As the CGFS's oversight body, the GEM, with support from the Economic Consultative Committee, appoints the Chair, receives the Committee's reports and decides on publication, and provides guidance on work priorities. The Committee's Secretariat is hosted and supported by the BIS in Basel.
Kazuo Ueda, Governor of the Bank of Japan, was appointed Chair of the CGFS for a three-year term starting 12 May, 2026.
