Sarah Bell is the Head of Central Banking Studies, which includes acting as Head of the Secretariat for the Central Bank Governance Group. She previously worked as Adviser to the General Manager. Prior to joining the BIS, she spent 15 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY). Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff to William Dudley, former President of the FRBNY. Before that, Sarah worked on a variety of financial stability issues and crisis management projects, and was seconded for two years to the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. She completed her graduate studies in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and her undergraduate studies at Princeton University.
