Leanne joined the BIS from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in March 2026. At the HKMA, she was a Senior Economist in the Economic Research division, where she led a team and conducted research focusing on macroeconomic and financial developments in the Asia region. Between July 2022 and February 2025, Leanne was an Adviser at the BIS Innovation Hub Hong Kong Centre, where she worked on projects related to tokenised central bank money and big data analytics. Her research interests include global supply chains, climate risks, financial innovation and artificial intelligence. Leanne holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Arts and Science from McGill University.
