Phurichai Rungcharoenkitkul joined the BIS in 2014. His recent research spans monetary policy, financial stability, financial markets, and open-economy issues. His works feature in the BIS flagship publications, bimonthly policy notes and academic journals. In his previous career at the Bank of Thailand, he led a team responsible for providing policy recommendations to the Monetary Policy Committee. His other central banking experiences include forecasting and modelling, as well as reserve management. He spent 2011-12 at the IMF in the Asia & Pacific Department, working on various research projects and country missions. He holds a DPhil and MPhil in economics from the University of Oxford.
