Miguel Díaz

Head of Strategy / Deputy Head, Innovation Hub

Miguel was appointed as Deputy Head of the BIS Innovation Hub (BISIH) and Head of Strategy in July 2024. Previously, he was Head of the BISIH Toronto Innovation Hub Centre. Prior to joining the BIS, he was the head of Payment Systems and Financial Market infrastructures at the Bank of Mexico where he guided the development, operation, analysis, and regulation of financial market infrastructures. In his previous roles he directed strategic planning and managed macro-financial analysis for the Bank of Mexico. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
