Ko Munakata joined the BIS in August 2024 as a secondee from the Bank of Japan. His primary research interests include the mechanism of price stickiness, inflation and monetary policy. His current responsibilities involve preparing discussion notes for the BIS’s bimonthly meetings of central bank governors. He holds a PhD in applied physics from Stanford University and an MSc in econometrics and mathematical economics from London School of Economics.
