Ingomar Krohn joined the BIS in September 2025. Previously, he held research roles at the Bank of Canada - serving as Principal Researcher and Senior Economist in the Financial Markets Department - and was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Finance at Copenhagen Business School. He holds a PhD in finance from Warwick Business School. Ingomar's research focuses on international finance, financial markets and empirical asset pricing. His recent work analyses exchange rate dynamics and examines institutional characteristics and trading behaviour in the foreign exchange market. His work has been published in leading academic journals and presented at seminars and conferences hosted by the BIS, Bank of England, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Central Bank of Brazil and Central Bank of Norway. His papers have been included in the programmes of various academic conferences and workshops, including the AFA, EFA, FMA, NFA, Workshops on Financial Determinants of Foreign Exchange Rates, Annual Hedge Fund Conference and Symposium on Foreign Exchange Markets.
