Hakan Eroglu is Adviser at the BIS Innovation Hub in Hong Kong SAR, where he focuses on open finance, digital currencies and payments. Prior to joining the BIS, he held senior global roles in strategy and technology consulting, as well as in innovative product development for payments and open finance at Mastercard, Accenture and Infosys. He has deep expertise in open data ecosystems, data regulation, API standardisation, payments and monetary systems. He is an internationally recognised thought leader and author in his field, and has contributed to several international working groups, including ISO in Switzerland and the Berlin Group. He holds a German diploma in computer science from Technische Universität Darmstadt.
