Greg joined the FSI in 2004. He contributes to the work of the FSI by conducting research in a number of areas, including stress testing and the determinatnts of credit ratings and house prices. He earned a PhD in economics in 1995 from Yale University, where he specialised in the areas of finance, macroeconomics and econometrics. After completing his PhD, Greg worked in the Monetary and Economic Department of the BIS for a number of years. He holds an MA equivalent in statistics from Yale University and a BA in economics from the University of Califonia, Berkeley.
