Gregory Sutton has worked as an economist in the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the BIS since 2004. In addition to conducting research in his fields of interest, he represents the FSI in the Research Group of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Prior to his current role, Mr Sutton was an economist in the Monetary and Economic Department of the BIS, which he joined in 1995. He holds an MA equivalent in statistics and a PhD in economics, both from Yale University. His primary research interests include measuring and controlling systemic risk, the determinants of house price fluctuations and the impacts of climate risks on the financial system.
