Welcome to our redesigned website. We’ve refreshed the look and rebuilt the foundations so you can find BIS information more easily and move smoothly between related pages.

What does beta mode mean?
We’re releasing the new site in a controlled “beta” phase ahead of full launch. This allows you to explore the new site while we keep improving it.
- Features and layouts may evolve. Some content is still being finalised or migrated. Your feedback directly informs fixes and refinements.
- The current site remains available until full launch. You can return to it anytime using the “Back to current site” link.

A new look
We’ve redesigned the site with a clean, contemporary style that meets today’s standards. The result is a calmer, more readable experience with clear spacing, refined typography and visuals that put content first.
Tip: If you’re returning after a while, start on the homepage to get a quick overview of what’s new.
Navigation made simple
A consistent top navigation bar stays with you as you browse, and the click-to-open mega menus group related items for a clearer path. We’ve also reduced the number of pages so you can reach what you need with fewer clicks (but don't worry, the content is still there, just perhaps not on it's own page anymore).
Tip: If you can’t spot a page in the top bar, open the mega menu and check “About” for a quick route in.
Clear section wayfinding
Each section now starts with a hero banner and a local, second-level navigation so you always know where you are. Moving within a section is easy, with quick links back to the section landing or up a level.
Tip: New to a topic? Start with the section overview to get the big picture before diving deeper.
On-page helpers for long reads
Longer pages are easier to scan with “On this page” anchors, collapsible accordions and a back-to-top arrow. You can jump to what matters, expand just the details you need, and keep your place.
Tip: In order to improve the readability of content, a lot of content has been styled in accordions which you can open only if you are interested in the respective information.
One BIS Library
All publications now live in a single location, so you can go to one place to find all research and media by the BIS. Browsing and filtering make it simpler so you can locate what you need faster.
Tip: Want to find only the publications of a certain committee? Filter based on "Source" for what you are looking for, or check out the publications page within the respective committee.
Cross-page connections for the user journey
We’ve created connections through links and various new style components so related content is never far away. Keep an eye out for links or boxes with related information when you are on a page, or check the bottom of a page under the “You might also be interested in” section to continue your journey without starting over.
Tip: Follow these links to discover information you may not have known was on the BIS website.
More useful features
We have a lot of additional new features, and some which may be familiar but with a new look.
If you are a regular visitor to the Basel Committee pages, you will be pleased to see that we have kept the summary of a document's history. Check out the header on a publication page for quick access to previous or subsequence versions and consultations. You will also find comments at the bottom of the publications page.
We consolidated a lot of pages from the old website into fewer ones. This means that more content is now on less space. To help maintain readability, we implemented various features such as accordion tabs, which you can open if you would like to know more about a topic.
If you are at the bottom of the page and would like to quickly return to the beginning, keep an eye out in the bottom right corner for a red arrow. This automatically takes you back to the beginning of the page so you can continue navigating within that section with the local navigation.
You will find "Share this page" buttons for X, LinkedIn and email at the top right of each page, which allows you to quickly share a page from the BIS with your network.
