Introduction

Kia ora koutou,

Thank you to the organizers of the "Climate Change and Business Conference" – The Environmental Defence Society, Sustainable Business Council and Climate Leaders Coalition – for gathering us all for this important and necessary discussion. Thank you to Bell Gully for sponsoring this session on "Disclosure and Managing Risk", and to Simon Watt for chairing.

Thank you also to the many notable speakers and dignitaries at this landmark conference for sharing your wisdom and insight: Dr. Caralee McLiesh of The Treasury, Rod Carr of the Climate Change Commission, Mayor Phil Goff, and Vicky Robertson of the Ministry for the Environment to name a few.

I also acknowledge the Climate Change Minister James Shaw and his personal commitment, and leadership on this very important issue.
