About the conference
2024 marks the 50th anniversary since the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision was established by G10 Governors. To celebrate this milestone, the Committee held a special edition of the International Conference of Banking Supervisors (ICBS) in Basel on 24-25 April 2024. The overarching theme for the 23rd ICBS was "Looking ahead by looking back: 50 years of the Basel Committee".

Day 1 - 24 April
Day one begun with welcoming remarks by the Basel Committee Secretary General and a keynote speech by the Committee Chair. This was followed by several panel discussions focused on the Committee's achievements over the past 50 years and its future work, as well as an address by the BIS General Manager.
