Webinar on linking fast payment systems across borders: considerations for governance and oversight
11 December 2023.
Global adoption of fast payment systems (FPS) is rising at a rapid pace. The interlinking of FPS could present one of the most promising solutions for enhancing cross-border payments. Agreeing on workable governance and oversight frameworks for interlinking arrangements, however, can be especially challenging.
As part of the G20 cross-border payments programme, the BIS Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) recently published an interim report with 10 considerations on governance and oversight for FPS interlinking. The CPMI is seeking stakeholder input in order to develop the final report, which will be published by end-2024. To this end, the CPMI held a webinar on 11 December 2023.
