About the Representative Offices

The Bank for International Settlements has two regional offices:

These Representative Offices serve as centres for BIS activities in their respective regions, strengthening relations and promoting cooperation between the BIS and regional central banks and supervisory authorities. To that end, the two offices foster the exchange of information and data, facilitate the organisation of meetings and seminars, and contribute to the Bank's financial and economic research on Asia and the Americas.

The offices also support BIS banking services in the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas, and provide assistance through regular visits to reserve managers of central banks. The Asian Office's regional treasury dealing room further enhances the level and scope of banking services to regional customers through its daily trading activities.
