The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) announced today that, as part of its 75th anniversary celebrations, it would hold an exhibition at its headquarters in Basel, Switzerland for two weeks this year.

The exhibition, this is the biz, will provide an opportunity for the general public to learn more about the BIS, its global role and its connections with Basel. The exhibition will be open from Tuesday 28 June to Tuesday 12 July 2005, at Centralbahnplatz 2 ("The Tower").

The exhibition's title reflects the German name of the BIS, Bank für Internationalen Zahlungsausgleich (BIZ).

In announcing the exhibition, BIS General Manager Malcolm Knight said, "The BIS is proud to have been part of the city of Basel for 75 years. We are looking forward to welcoming the people of the Basel region, and those from further afield, to come inside the Bank and discover more about what we do."

Entrance to the exhibition will be free of charge. Further details will be published on the BIS website ( www.bis.org) as they become available.
