Anastasia Kartasheva is an Economist at Financial Institutions section of the Monetary and Economic Department. Dr. Kartasheva current research interests are related to regulation of financial institutions, financial stability and systemic risk. Prior to joining BIS in September 2012, Dr. Kartasheva was an assistant professor of insurance and risk management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the Wharton Risk Centre. She was a short term consultant at the World Bank in early 2000s. Dr. Kartasheva holds a PhD in economics from the University of Toulouse.
