Take part in the BIS Innovation Hub - Bank of England DLT Innovation Challenge

The BIS Innovation Hub London Centre, in collaboration with the Bank of England, is engaging with the private sector to better understand how to incorporate distributed ledger technology (DLT) into wholesale central bank settlement.

The DLT Innovation Challenge invites firms to demonstrate their solution to the problem statement – how can central bank money be securely transacted and settled on an external ledger that is not controlled by a central bank and where trust is not inherent?

Applications are open to organisations around the world from technology, payments, banking, retail and other relevant sectors that are interested in exploring our problem statement and highlighting potential DLT technology solutions.

The challenge will run through September and October 2025, with successful participants each required to undertake a series of virtual 'deep-dives' with experts from the BIS Innovation Hub and Bank of England. Following these deep-dives, selected participants will be invited to present or demonstrate their solutions at an in-person event at a London venue on 21 October.

If you are interested in taking part, please visit DLT Innovation Challenge | Bank of England for more detailed information about the process and how to apply. We are accepting submissions until 23 July 2025.
