Asian Office research

Meetings and research

Over the period 2010-12, research in the Asian Office will focus on two overarching themes, one for the monetary stability group and one for the financial stability group. This work will be showcased in two high-level conferences, one in 2011 and one in 2012.

• The monetary stability group focused on "central bank balance sheets and monetary stability". The work was presented in a high-level conference in December 2011 in Chiang Mai.
• The financial stability group will focus on "property markets and financial stability". The work will be presented in a high-level conference in August 2012 in Sydney.

Research projects are often undertaken in collaboration with central banks and supervisory authorities in Asia and the Pacific, including members of two Asian research networks, one for monetary policy and exchange rates and the other for financial markets and institutions.
