The BIS hosts the secretariats of a number of independent organisations without direct reporting links to the BIS and its member central banks. These are the Financial Stability Board (FSB), the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI).
The IAIS and IADI focus on the domains of insurance and deposit insurance, respectively, while the FSB's mission is broader.
The FSB promotes international financial stability through enhanced information exchange and international cooperation in financial supervision and surveillance. It brings together on a regular basis national authorities responsible for financial stability in significant international financial centres, international financial institutions, international regulatory or supervisory bodies, and committees of central bank experts.
