In the period 2019/20, we continued to shape the Bank for the future with our Innovation BIS 2025 strategy while remembering our origins as we prepared to commemorate our 90th anniversary in 2020.
Promoting global monetary and financial stability
The BIS embraces continuous innovation through research and analysis, exploration of financial technology, banking services, capacity-building and knowledge-sharing.
Promoting international cooperation
The BIS acts as a forum for discussion and a platform for cooperation among policymakers, to foster monetary and financial stability.
Financial results and profit allocation
The Bank's balance sheet and financial results are driven mainly by its banking activities.
The BIS is governed at three levels: the General Meetings of member central banks, the Board of Directors and BIS Management.
