Yuuki Shimizu

Since joining the BIS in July 2014, Yuuki Shimizu has been the secretary for several CPMI working groups, such as the working group on retail payments and the working group on correspondent banking, contributing to the groups' reports. Prior to joining the BIS, he worked for 14 years at the Bank of Japan in various positions, mainly in the areas of bank supervision, monetary affairs and payment and settlement systems. In 2007-08, he was a representative in the Bank of Japan Chief Representative Office for the Americas in New York. He holds a master's degree in law from Columbia University Law School and a bachelor's degree in law from Kyoto University.
