BIS Innovation Hub projects

BIS Innovation Hub projects aim to develop public goods in the technology space geared towards improving the functioning of the financial system. 

Our projects are experimental in nature, for the purpose of investigating technological and practical feasibility.

The private sector plays an important role in BIS Innovation Hub projects. Many are built on active collaboration with private sector partners along with central banks and other public sector stakeholders. While private firms are often retained as contracted consultants, there may also be projects where they collaborate with the Innovation Hub as partners (and not contracted consultants) to develop a public good outcome, such as an improved payments infrastructure or a technology solution to deepen financial inclusion. The BIS discloses the names of such partners on a periodic basis. Below is a list of private sector partners and the associated projects.1
