This paper presents a comprehensive set of twenty-five Core Principles that have been developed by the Basle Committee as a reference point for effective banking supervision. The Principles are designed to be applied by all countries in the supervision of the banks in their jurisdictions.
The paper has been issued for consultation until 16th June 1997, with the intention of having a final version available in September.
