This document consists of a set of principles for banks and supervisory authorities to apply in relation to the management of interest rate risk. The paper reemphasises the need for banks to maintain adequate risk management practices in all their activities. It lays down twelve agreed principles that supervisory authorities will consider in evaluating banks' management of interest rate risk covering four categories.
The paper is a consultative proposal on which comments are solicited by 15th April 1997.
