Position: Risk Analyst

I'm responsible for implementing, supporting and managing credit risk and market risk solutions, as well as the operational risk quantification systems. I joined the BIS in 2007, and prior to that I had quite a varied educational and work background, with a Bachelor's degree in engineering and an MBA before working as an IT consultant and project manager and starting my own company.

Most of the work I do is very collaborative, which I really enjoy. It is also pretty crucial to the BIS's mandate as a bank for central banks. The people here come from all kinds of different backgrounds, but they're all very professional so you know you can rely on them.

I think it's this diversity that makes the BIS really special, and I also like having the time to develop my hobbies - something that definitely wasn't possible when I worked in the private sector in Asia. My job allows me to develop my knowledge of both microprudential and macroprudential risk management, so there's quite a steep learning curve and I find myself getting involved in different things every day.
