The General Secretariat supports the BIS with a full range of corporate services. Its operating units comprise:
Provides the physical and technical infrastructure for the Bank, including the procurement of goods and services. Sub-units include Corporate Facility Management, Corporate Security and Corporate Procurement.
Supports the Bank's strategic goals through effective, integrated communications with both external and internal audiences.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of financial policy, prepares reports and accounts, monitors and reports on the financial position and maintains effective controls.
Ensures that the Bank is able to attract and retain high-calibre staff and fosters a work environment that inspires success. Works closely with the business areas to promote a learning and development culture and tailors rewards to make the BIS an employer of choice.
Oversees the IT infrastructure and telecommunications systems to ensure optimal performance. In addition, delivers and develops efficient IT solutions and applications to the business. Also ensures that relevant information is available through effective information and business process management.
Supports all aspects of meetings and events at the BIS, including transport and accommodation, visas and interpreters, and other logistical arrangements.
