Jing Yang is a senior economist in the Monetary and Economics Department. She worked at the Bank of Canada in Financial Markets Department straight after her PhD. Prior to joining the BIS, she had worked at the Bank of England for 8 years where she held various positions in financial stability and monetary policy areas of the Bank including an senior monetary policy adviser for external MPC members. During this period, she also had a short span at the ECB in its DG payments. She holds a Doctorate in Economics from Concordia University in Montreal and MA and BA in Economics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China. She published widely in the areas such as financial stability, monetary policy and international finance.
